Hybrid Marine Engine

A 1.2 MW hybrid diesel-electric marine propulsion system developed for a consortium of European shipyards. Our brief was to render the engineering package for both technical review and client presentation — audiences with very different framings of the same imagery.

We delivered a 48-frame engineering illustration package, a 90-second exploded-assembly animation, and an interactive 3D inspection tool used at technical review sessions.

The Approach

Engineering accuracy, presentation polish.

Our team worked directly from the client's CAD source — STEP files and native assemblies — and built the visualization pipeline around dimensional accuracy. Every component is dimensionally correct; every cutaway is positioned to reveal specific engineering detail.

The presentation package was rendered with cinematic lighting and atmospherics for client review, while the engineering-review package was rendered flat with annotation callouts for technical sign-off. Both packages were generated from the same source geometry, ensuring absolute consistency.

The exploded assembly animation was the project's signature deliverable — a 90-second walk-through that revealed every component of the system in proper installation sequence. The consortium used it at four trade shows during the launch year.
